1996. I was madly, madly, MADLY in love with my first boyfriend. It was passion and lust and sex, but it was not everlasting love. I wrote the song almost against my will, because I didn't want it to be a WAVE of love, I wanted it to last forever. Lucky me it didn't, but while it lasted, I tasted the bittersweet flavor of a fiery love that could never last, or else I'd be destroyed by it. I recorded this version while I was still dating him, but the official version in my first album, "Look Carefully", was done when we had already split and I was having a very hard time, it took me a long time to forget him, more exactly four years, that is, when I met my husband and wrote a song called "Everlasting Love", included in my second album, "The Blue Sea". I knew Alessando was to be forever, as much as I knew Paulo was not to last. My singing is very emocional in this version, while the official album version has a cynical and sad vibe about it.
Memories of a guy who was never afraid to love all the way, fearlessly.
